Title: Wasted Youth
Author: Galadriel (caras_galadhon)
Characters: Merrick
Rating: PG
Archive: Lothlorien and sons_of_gondor.
Feedback: Always appreciated.
Disclaimer: Absolutely not mine. The Island belongs entirely to Michael Bay and Dreamworks, and I could never, in my wildest dreams, make that many things crash and/or blow up in one single story anyway.
Summary: Youth was only ever another agnate away.
Notes: Written for the seans_50 July Film Challenge using The Island as inspiration, and finished in the nick of time. Again.

I found an early draft of the screenplay for The Island, which is really different from the finished movie.

A short, random synopsis by me: http://whisperedtales.livejournal.com/2189.html#cutid1

A link to the screenplay itself: http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Island,-The.html

I'll just say here that I think the movie might have been more satisfying in the second half had it stayed closer to this version. The first few scenes are familiar, but the movie increasingly deviates from this version.

And his name is Bernard Merrick, which I find strangely amusing. XD!

Hello everyone, your lovely mod Boz calling out to you all in the wee hours of a tired Thursday morning.

This comm's been struggling for air for quite some time, granted the fandom revolves around one movie and one movie alone, but nevertheless, I'm thinking that people are at a loss as to what to write.

I'm poor, so no paid account, which means no fun ticky-boxes for you to have. Instead, I ask you to do the tedious comment reply to the following question:

Monthly themed challenges? Something you'd participate in or something you'd find pointless? Response can be a simple as a "Yes, let's do mod challenges," or you can flesh out your answers a little more so I can get a better feeling of where you're comming from.

Awesome. I better see some comments soon. XD *runs off to make her "Don't Piss the Mod Off" icon*

*pokes comm* Hello? Anyone still there? Anyway, I've recently joined. My name is Brandy *waves* and I come bearing a fic.

I've finally typed this up and edited it to a vague sense of satisfaction. I know this has kinda been done before, but here's my take on the wonderfully messed up character of Tom Lincoln, though it's unfortunately belated. Constructive criticsm welcome!

(A longer series with the Tom/Lincoln pairing is kinda in the works. By 'kinda' I mean I have the first chapter or so, but don't want to post it unless I believe it'll go farther than just that. I don't know how lazy or inspired I'll be, so there are no promises on that.)

But on to the fic:

Working Title: A Day in the Illustrious Life of the Great Tom Lincoln
Author: Brandy (whisperedtales)
Part: 1/1
Pairing: Tom/Lincoln (Implied...Vaguely. Sorry!)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Read the cheesy title
Warnings: Ummm... character death. Not much else, really. ( but ph34r my Scot-speak!)
Thanks to my friend Megan (aka simbapiratechik) for the beta (not a Betta :D).

Tom's day had started out normal enough. He would have professed to be disappointed had he known it would all be so undramatic.
